Valerie Glass
My name is Valerie Glass,
I am 54 years old.
I come from a family of immigrants with roots in French Tunisia. As a French-born and raised woman, my heritage is deeply intertwined with the rich cultural history of both France and Tunisia. My journey of migration has continued, as I’ve moved from France to the UK. I’m married to the world-renowned theatre director David Glass, who also comes from a family of immigrants, having moved from America to the UK.
Together, we are “double immigrants,” bringing diverse experiences from Tunisia, France, and America into our lives. Professionally, I am both a language teacher and a fashion model, balancing my love for education with a passion for fashion. My career began in fashion buying for the prestigious Marks & Spencer, a blue-chip company, where I developed a keen eye for style and market trends. My modelling journey started early, with the honour of being crowned Miss twice, at the ages of 14 and 16. In addition to my work in fashion and education,
I’ve also pursued studies in acting, dancing, and singing, which have been instrumental in my involvement with the Lost Child projects, an initiative I have worked on closely with my husband. These projects are deeply meaningful to me, allowing me to merge my artistic talents with a commitment to social impact, helping to give voice to those who are often unheard. My life is a tapestry woven from multiple cultures, professions, and experiences, all of which continue to shape my unique perspective on the world.
I will be representing France.
