My name is Deborah Palmer, and I am 67 years old. I have one daughter and two grandchildren aged 18 and 21. I live in Kent, and I am currently employed as a social worker and about to retire on 18th September. I look forward to retirement, as I have been a public servant for the past 34 years. However, I was recently head-hunting, and in recognition of still having a lot to offer and feeling young at heart, I may take up the offer to work reduced hours, as I truly enjoy helping people to develop to the best of their ability and potential, whether it’s a child or an adult. I recognise that we don’t all have the same opportunities in life, and we all make mistakes, but the important things are to learn from our mistakes, forgive ourselves and others, to have self-belief and keep it moving! I therefore look forward to the next chapter in my life and to fulfilling my purpose and destiny.
